Experience Days & Visits to the farm
One thing we love just as much as our farming life, is sharing it with you!!
Lambing Barn Tours
Lambing is such a special and magical time in the shepherding calendar. Bringing new life into the world is a huge honour and incredibly humbling at the same time.
This is your chance to have a look around the lambing barn, meet the flock, ask lots of questions and find out exactly what happens at this special time of year.
Your tour will begin by meeting our flock, before spending time with the new mums and lambs. the highlight of your visit will be the lambs themselves. Sitting with a lamb on your lap is a very calming experience and one that you will never forget. You may also witness a lamb being born although this is not guarenteed.
Please note:
These sessions are not suitable for pregnant women or women who believe they may be pregnant.
The lambing shed is cold so wear appropriate clothing to keep you warm. Also be aware that clothes and footwear may get dirty.
During your visit we ask that you remain quiet and mindful so as not to distress the ewes.
These tours are suitable for children over 5
Toilet facilities are limited as in they are only accessible at the end of your tour. There are, of course, hand washing facilities after handling the animals.

Lamb Graduation Day
(aka weaning day)
Come and be part of Graduaion Day AKA the day the lambs are weaned from the ewes. This is the next step in the shepherding calendar, the lambs once weaned become officially known as ‘hoggs’, and the ewes get the summer off.
The event involves gathering the flock, separating the groups, health checking each animals including weighing and administering a mineral boost, then leading each group into their allocated field.
Refreshments are provided throughout the day to keep you going PLUS a cream tea and something fizzy once the job is done!
What you need to know:
It can get very very loud!!
Waterproof pants and gloves are provided, but the weather is not guarenteed and the ground may be muddy so a waterproof coat and wellies are a good idea. The majority of the work is undercover so if you haven’t got wellies you can still join in with the most of the work.
The afternoon will be as hands on as possible so it can be physical and you will get mucky!
This is a group activity, maximum of 6 places are available. and children from year 7 and above are welcome.
